This blog is about quilting, knitting, sewing, cross stitching, and hiking. I started the blog to document my quilts and other crafting, but thus far I have focused mainly on our hikes, since we make it a point to hike at least once a week. I have a plan for adding in stories of individual quilts I have finished (9/13/2017).
My husband and I live in Portland, Oregon, and have raised three children. For the past few years we have prioritized getting out to a hike at least once a week. It often rains where we live, but we can drive about an hour east through the Columbia River Gorge to dry skies, thanks to the rain shadow of the Cascade Mountains. In the spring I pay close attention to the wild flowers as they bloom. I have been focusing on learning the common names of wildflowers for the past few years, and I keep a list of the flowers we see on each hike. Thanks to the Oregon Hikers website and the Wildflower Search website for providing much useful information. (April 25, 2017)
